Clocks have become common gifting ideas and we have received our share for both our wedding as well as house warming. But these clocks never impressed me, I wasn’t too clear about what I was looking for in clocks, if I wanted something of vintage charm or one of the modern art clocks. What I did not know was that soon, I would be spoiled for choice! A recent visit to a furniture expo conducted by Times of India, had a range of home products from furniture to even clocks for sale. It was there that my husband fell in love with two unique clocks that now is up on our walls. One a railway double sided clock that had an old world charm to it and the dials were hand-painted with roman numerals and copper finishing for the frame. It was perfect for our open kitchen and dining. The other we bought for the bedroom had an unique frame made of broken coconut shells and went well with the walnut furniture in the room. I still do wish sometimes that my parents had saved the old grandfather clock for me, but for those like me who did not inherit the timeless classics, here are some interesting finds online that you can shop for:

I found this interesting as this is used as ‘moram’ (in tamil) to sort through rice grains and remove unwanted particles such as stones or husks, but to see it in the form of a clock is quite something!
