I’m Anusha and in this blog I talk about my experiments with turning a house into a home. I believe a home is a reflection of the people who live in it, exuding a unique personality and life of its own. Artful living goes beyond expert interior design or unique architecture, it’s the small things, the routines and the people that breathe life into everyday spaces. A home has to be functional, not just a pretty setting for a photoshoot but a place that actually inspires creativity, bonding and growth. A safe space that relaxes, soothes and heals, home is actually a feeling. I have been exploring this feeling for several years now, from remembering the smell of my childhood home during the monsoons, to discovering my identity in hostel rooms, to purchasing my own home and then to moving abroad and living the expat rental life! In all these years my design sensibilities have evolved and continue to do so, but one thing remains unchanged and that is how home as a space affects my mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. I give my home my all and it in return nurtures me and my family.
If you are here to find little ways to improve your home, to find a way to lead a more artful lifestyle, to seek art and DIY as therapy, to relax and find your zen space, then I hope I am able to provide the value you seek. Let’s together explore this feeling called home!
